The Work Number's nationwide footprint

Where are all those people asking for employment verifications calling from? They are, of course, everywhere your employees live - wherever they look to rent an apartment or seek a loan.

Even if you do business in a single state, those verification requests may come from anywhere in the U.S. After all, banks and financial institutions are global and former employees may move across the country before seeking social service assistance or applying for a job with a new employer who might want to confirm the person's recent work history.

That's why our verification service, The Work Number, is everywhere, too. See for yourself on our map of verifiers by state.

Over 76,000 organizations, or "verifiers" as we like to call them, are credentialed to use The Work Number. We know who they are, and we confirm their "permissible purpose" every time they need a verification of employment or income, so you don't have to.

Of course, if you've already outsourced your employment verifications to TALX, you aren't getting many calls from "verifiers". The vast majority of verifiers will start by checking The Work Number to see if the information they need is already available. You don't have to lift a finger unless you want to check up on who's asking for information about your employees, in which case you can download a report in minutes.

Want to find out more about our relationship with all these verifiers? We'd be delighted to tell you! Please contact us via email at moreinfo@equifax.com with "who are all those verifiers?" in the subject line.
